Full notes of dried strawberries, clay, and dried rose pedals leads you to a delightfully long and lingering finish. Drinks light like Pinot Noir, but with a brighter acidity, more assertive tannin structure, and drier fruit notes.

Nebbiolo is a grape variety native to the Piedmont region of Italy, and is often found planted along their sloped and fog covered hills. As picky as Pinot Noir, Nebbiolo struggles to find a happy home, but we have made one here in the Santa Ynez Valley. It's not obvious, but it turns out that our region (so comfortable for Pinot Noir) is also a great region for Nebbiolo growth. When you first look at Nebbiolo wine, it is bright red and light in color, almost pink. Decievingly light looking, wines produced from Nebbiolo tend to be intense and seductive, and are typically high caliber wines with great drinkability and aging potential. The Itallian regional designation wines of Borolo are made exclusively with this grape, and are among the most expensive (and most age-worthy) wines in the world. Hence, our Nebbiolo is made in a similar style to the traditional Borolo and Barbaresco wines of Italy.
