2021 Consilience Syrah - SBC

We approach the 2021 Santa Barbara Syrah with a deep respect for our region’s transverse valleys, where the Pacific’s cooling influence meets warm California sunshine. This balanced climate, paired with ancient marine and sandstone soils, encourages the grapes to develop complexity and natural vibrancy. By employing whole-cluster fermentation, gentle cap management, and a restrained use of oak, we let the true character of the fruit shine through.

Expect aromatics of ripe blackberry, violet, and cracked pepper, woven with subtle hints of cured meats and graphite. On the palate, it’s medium-plus in body with dark berry flavors framed by fine-grained tannins and a lingering, savory finish. From the very first vintage we crafted in 1997, our goal has been to consistently produce a Syrah that resonates with authenticity, depth, and a genuine sense of place—and this release is no exception.
